CSArch was founded in 1991 by Randolph Colins (a graduate of Utica College) and Paul Scoville as an educational planning design firm that provides architecture, engineering, interior design and construction management. Today, they represent a diverse range of building types including K-12 Education, Higher Education, Civic + Institutional and Corporate. They have locations in Albany and Newburgh and people are at the heart of everything they do – from the people who inhabit the buildings they design to their own team.
CSArch is on the cutting edge of design for classrooms and learning spaces and are experts in the needs of 21st century education, focusing on how space can impact learning and how individuals collaborate and succeed in their environments.
Their team of nearly 60 has extensive experience creating spaces built with children in mind. Notable projects in our region they have partnered with include the World Awareness Children’s Museum in Glens Falls, The Wild Center, Herkimer Diamond Mines Village, many community-focused YMCA spaces and a multitude of school projects. They are currently working on a multi-year renovation of the existing high school for the City School District of Albany.
They also have a longtime relationship with Utica College, having completed many new build and renovation projects on campus including the current Gordon Science Center building.
ICAN and the Utica Children’s Museum have been working diligently with CSArch for over two years on the new Family Resource Center and Museum and are looking forward to seeing this first-of-its-kind space come to life.
